2. New hub opens to tackle domestic violence
A purpose-built Vulnerable Persons Hub has opened in Mackay, delivering a unified, trauma-informed policing and support service for those impacted by domestic and family violence.
Led by Minister Dan Purdie, the hub brings together eight specialist teams and partner organisations under one roof to provide early intervention, coordinated care, and safer outcomes for victim-survivors.
The facility includes secure interview rooms, one child-friendly and is designed to offer dignity, privacy, and support to those in crisis.
This milestone forms part of the Crisafulli Governmentβs broader plan to strengthen community safety and victim-centric justice across Queensland. Read full article.π
